Celebrate fall with this special 3-part class and learn to make your very own ceramic pumpkin on the wheel!
In the first class your instructor will guide you step by step as you create a closed orb on the wheel. Then you will be shown techniques to alter, shape and add a stem.
In the second class you will trim and “carve” your leather-hard pumpkin, adding a few finishing details. The pumpkins will be allowed to dry and then put in the bisque kiln.
The third and final class will be dedicated to painting your bisque pumpkin whatever color and style you imagine.
You’ll be notified when the final glaze firing is complete, and you’ll have your pumpkin just in time for your fall gatherings!
Although this class is open to all levels, previous centering experience is helpful with this technique. Pumpkin pinch pots are also an option for the beginner. Come get your hands muddy and explore this fun technique!
All tools and materials will be provided. Register in person at the arts center or online at here.
This discounted class is funded by a generous donation from the John Ben Snow Foundation.
