RIEEA August Virtual Lunch & Learn: Hunting, Fishing, and Environmental Education - Thurs, 8/21/25

Join the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) on Thursday, August 21, at 12:00pm for a Virtual Lunch & Learn: Hunting, Fishing, and Environmental Education, featuring guest speaker Courtney Nicolson, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Save The Bay - and an avid hunter and fisher.

Courtney will explore the deep connections between hunting, fishing, and environmental stewardship, including how hunters and fishers contribute to conservation through fees and volunteer efforts like habitat restoration and research assistance. She’ll also address resources and barriers to participation, common misconceptions, and the shared goals of environmental educators and the sporting community around conservation, access, and shared use of natural spaces. Courtney will share her personal journey into hunting and fishing, with time for questions and discussion.
