It's happened! Summer has finally arrived (just when it is about to end) and the tomatoes are here! So, it's time to get our tomato processing on!
Have you ever wanted to be able to process your own sauce? Do you know the difference between a passata and a sugo? What about canning peeled tomatoes or chopped tomatoes to use through the winter?
Join us for a full day of tomato processing, where we will teach you the science of preserving tomatoes and how to store them, ready for all those delicious pastas, soups and winter comfort dishes we all love so much.
The following is included in the day:
- full days learning on processing passata, sugo, whole peeled tomatoes and chopped/crushed tomatoes
- a farmhouse brunch of freshly baked scones with our house-made jam and Ashgrove whipped cream
- a delicious lunch of fresh pasta, foccacia and seasonal salad with a glass of wine
- 6 x 500 ml jars of processed Seed and Stem heirloom tomatoes to take home
- a workshop booklet so you can revisit all you have learned
- all in a World Heritage location at Brickendon Estate
