Join us for a GFS Member Meet-up at Art@Bainbridge to view the exhibition Léni Paquet-Morante: Extract / Abstract and learn more about the artwork together with the artist.
Léni Paquet-Morante is a painter, sculptor, multidisciplinary artist and friend of GFS, with a studio located in the Motor Exhibits Building on the GFS campus. She also previously studied at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture.
Léni Paquet-Morante: Extract / Abstract, currently on view at Princeton University Art Museum’s Art@Bainbridge, “features recent works by Leni Paquet-Morante that reimagine landscape painting. Working across various media, including acrylic painting, ink drawing, and monoprints, the artist prioritizes abstraction through her use of bold colors, impressionistic mark-making, and unusual crops. Fascinated by tide pools, streams, and other shallow water systems characteristic of the Northeast, Paquet-Morante extracts basic and salient elements from nature and emphasizes the effects of patterned light and atmosphere to bring forward the complex beauty of everyday scenery.” (“Léni Paquet-Morante: Extract / Abstract”, Princeton University Art Museum)
This meet-up is open to current and new GFS members. Pre-registration is required as the exhibition gallery has limited space. Members are responsible for their own transportation to and from Art@Bainbridge.
