Foundation Studies

The Foundation Studies Program continues this Spring! Participants in this program will be encountering Anthroposophy (the philosophy underlying Waldorf education) through observation exercises, lecture presentations, and artistic work. The program is essential for anyone seeking to understand Waldorf education more deeply or considering becoming a Waldorf teacher.

The mornings consists of lecture and discussion, Eurythmy, and artistic exercises. Each week we share food and conversation because the strength of the experience comes through the relationships, not only the material presented. This is the last chance to join the Foundations Studies program for this cycle. After the Spring session, we will continue with a third session in Autumn 2026 but will not be taking new students.

Elan Leibner and Pamela Shafer will continue to run the program. Elan was a class teacher at WSP for more than twenty years. He has studied and lectured about Anthroposophy and Waldorf education extensively, and served as the Head of the Pedagogical Section Council of North America from 2012-2023. Pamela Shafer taught at WSP for over twenty years as a special subject and class teacher. The artistic studies will be led by a team of highly trained and experienced practitioners in the respective disciplines.
