Take a trip to the past on the BC Day long weekend for Huble Homesteadโs oldest running event. This two-day extravaganza is all about celebrating life on the homestead over a hundred years ago by taking in the sights, sounds, and activities of a bygone era.
Join in for some wholesome fun by taking part in the old-fashioned games and races, put your eating skills to the test in the eating contests, and learn heritage skills through demonstrations. Make ice cream and butter with our staff both days, learn about cheesemaking from local cheese expert Tracey Johnson of CheeseNeeds.com, and watch Dave from SilverTree Woodworking as he demonstrates the pole lathe. On Sunday, chat with Luthien as she works in the blacksmith shop, and check out Shannon's cross stitch project! She's also made kits to take home to try yourself!
On the holiday Monday, watch the blackpowder shooters aim and fire at targets in the back field - this is definitely the day to leave the dog at home. Learn about making perfume from Allie, who's been hard at work creating scents from flowers at the homestead, and then learn about crochet from Jay! Dawson from Brandt Blacksmithing will be in the shop, tinkering around!
โBring a lunch or make a bid in the box lunch social auction, an old-fashioned tradition that continues at the homestead today - win a lunch for one, two, or four that's been prepared by our staff. The BBQ will also be running if you're outbid, or just craving a hamburger!
Finally, enjoy live music on both days, with Karen Jungnitsch on Sunday, and some toe-tapping tunes from Fiddle Business on Monday!
Learn the history of the site through guided tours, test your Huble knowledge by taking part in the treasure hunt, play a round of tetherball or bocce in the wide open spaces, and create some lasting memories as you connect with history!

Huble Homestead is dog friendly and open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm for guided tours and shopping in the General Store. Enjoy a picnic or purchase lunch from the BBQ as you relax in the fresh air. Admission is by donation, with a recommended amount of $10.00 per family. We're closer than you think
