About the event

Feel-good Friday Soundbath with cacao (small mixed group)

The Magic of Sound

Soundbaths are not magic, but it feels like it. Sound healing or sound therapy has actually been around since ancient times and is based on the understanding that everything is energy and everything has a frequency or vibration.

This is not magic but science - sound stimulation can affect the body by slowing down brain waves, taking you from a heightened or anxious state to a more relaxed or meditative state. Soundbaths are therefore energy work and have the power to shift your physical and mental state.

Healing

Michelle's beautiful quartz crystal singing bowls are made up of whole notes and they vibrate at a similar frequency to that of the human body. They can tune in to the chakras in the body and tone up their frequency where needed. As you begin to relax and your nervous system is guided to a state of balance, your body and mind begin to work in harmony to restore the natural healing environment within you.

Other reported therapeutic benefits of crystal sound baths include:

- Deep relaxation and even altered state of consciousness
- Better sleep
- Boosts energy
- Mental clarity and improved focus
- Reduced feelings of stress or anxiety
- Support with managing pain and self-healing
- Improved digestion and immune system support
- Feelings of self-worth and self-esteem
- Creativity and decision making ability.

Intention and Environment

The power behind practitioner intention is also key, and so prior to each session, Michelle curates a comfortable space infused with gentle reiki energy and healing intentions which is just as important as playing the instruments and crystal bowls themselves.

Every detail is designed with your senses and comfort in mind; from the luxury beds and fluffy blankets, to the scents and sounds. Michelle always practices grounding and ensures she is connected with her instruments and crystal bowls before they are played so that she can read and connect with the energy in the room. This means she can play the instruments more intuitively, attending to what her clients need from the healing frequencies at that point in time.

Holding Space

After a soundbath many people report feeling deeply relaxed, with a new sense of self-worth and an inner calm. It is also common for people to have a physical or emotional response or release, or to see visions or have memories come up. Michelle always supports her guests fully, making sure she gives them time and space if they need it in her sessions.

Michelle is approachable and warm, with many years experience working in people-centred roles during her career. She also holds a counselling skills certificate and is a mental health first-aider.

If you just want some me-time, in a safe and comfortable space, or if you’re ready to reset your nervous system and boost your overall wellbeing, Michelle would love to welcome you along.

There are no expectations on you during the class, you don’t need to speak or explain, and you don't need to bring anything but yourself - comfortable mats, pillows, blankets and eye masks are all provided. Don't worry if you are on your own, many people attend on their own and no experience is required as Michelle will make you feel at ease and will explain all you need to know.

You’ll be fully clothed and invited to get comfortable on the luxurious mats, under the cosy blankets and you will be taken through a gentle guided relaxation before any bowls or instruments are played.

You’ll also be served an optional vegan ceremonial grade cacao to sip at the start of the session. This helps to open the heart chakra, creating space for healing, reflection, transformation, and creative inspiration. (Cacao is safe for most people but those with heart conditions or pregnant women or individuals sensitive to stimulants should consult a healthcare provider before consuming.)

- The session usually lasts around 1hr 15minutes.
- Comfy clothes like leggings or jogging trousers that you’re happy lying down in are recommended.
- Doors open 10 minutes before session starts, please arrive in plenty of time as once the class starts we’re unable to stop to allow others in. If you’re running late please message Michelle directly to advise.
- You will also receive an email with all of the details ahead of the session.
