Jim Higo is a writer, poet and performer; he has written and performed several one man shows including the critically acclaimed poetry/comedy show “That’s Not How You Spell Pedantic” (5-star reviews Edinburgh Festival) and one man play “I Can’t Stand Up for Falling Down” which toured the North of England.
His poetry collection “Sussed” was published in 2021.
He runs Away With Words the longest running spoken word open mic in Hull and also regular Spoken Word events at the legendary Adelphi Club in Hull.
He is a quarter of spoken word super group The 4 Johns who are currently touring their highly acclaimed show “That’s All We’ve Got Time For”.
He is a regular performer on the spoken word/variety circuit, a multiple poetry slam winner, Jim appeared in the Sky Arts television documentary Sky Arts Passions: Philip Larkin by Andrew Motion and also Sean McAllister’s film A Northern Soul and has been commissioned by the BBC.
In 2024 he was nominated for a Sky Arts award for his contribution to the arts.
