Walk from New Hailes to Prestonpans via lagoons at Musselburgh

This walk out of Edinburgh along the coast starts with a stroll through the historic New Hailes estate then past Fisherrow harbour to the Musselburgh lagoons where we will stop at the bird hides with our bird expert Mickey on hand.

Then onwards along the coast, through the Prestongrange Industrial Museum to ‘The Pans’, with optional stops for a bargain at Sam Burns yard and a pint in a socialist social club - the very swish Prestonpans Labour Club.

Public Transport: Lothian 30 bus takes 40 minutes from Princes Street, 30 from South Bridge. Return by 26 bus.

Meet Time: 10.00 at the entrance to New Hailes estate on New Hailes Road, a few minutes from the bus stop.
