The Messiah

Occento Choir returns in 2026 with an intimate performance of Handel’s Messiah. The performance will take place in the stunning setting of St Mary's Church, Penwortham, a space well suited to the chamber approach to this work performed on a large scale and will lend it to Handel's intended reflective atmosphere of the piece.

Led by Nathan Westell-Smith, the performance includes an excellent cohort of local talent including: Faye Anna Bowness (soprano), Imogen Garner (alto), Michael Jones (tenor), and David Cane (bass).

This performance offers a thoughtful alternative to larger-scale presentations of Messiah, inviting audiences to hear a familiar work afresh in the calm and characterful surroundings of St. Mary’s Church.
