Historical Fencing: Beginner's Sword Fighting Course

Ready to step into the world of sword fighting? Whether you’re looking to boost your fitness or simply want to learn the ancient art of putting a blade in the right place at the right time, this course is for you.
In this hands-on 12-week program, you’ll master the basics of historical fencing, covering key skills, techniques and strategies for handling swords across various styles. From the officer’s Broadsword and Sabre, to the knightly Longsword and the elegant Rapier — we’ll guide you through everything you need to know, with methods drawn from the rich traditions of Italian, German, Spanish, and French fencing schools.
This course is perfect for beginners who want to build a solid foundation, setting you up for all sorts of sword-related pursuits — whether that's historical re-enactment, the sport of historical fencing, LARP, or just impressing your mates.

WHERE:
The Melbourne Salle - 64 Oakover Road, Preston
WHAT YOU NEED:
We recommend you bring a water bottle, and wear clothing and shoes you are comfortable exercising in.
HOW TO JOIN:
Just arrive on your first night 15min before class starts so we can get you fitted with a jacket and mask.
New students to FCA get their first 3 classes at half price - payments are taken after class, or can be made online using the links below.
