Music history was changed forever once British bands like the Beatles first conquered the U.S. in 1964, but what followed the invasion was just as successful in maintaining England’s hold on the radios of America. New bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Queen hammered out the hard rock and heavy metal of the time while the original British Invasion groups like the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Who creatively evolved to heights never before seen in popular music.
