Who is Tanner?
Tanner is an American stand-up comedian, linguistics nerd, and professional overthinker who has lived abroad long enough to confidently misunderstand multiple cultures at once. He speaks several languages somewhat fluently, a skill that has proven remarkably useless in emergencies but exceptionally helpful for ruining dates.
In a cosmic mystery he still hasn’t fully processed, Tanner became a recurring face on German reality TV, RTL2’s Bella Italia. It is a show about Germans camping in Italy. No one can explain how this happened, but once you meet him, it makes sense.
He is the creator of The Punderdome, a hit live show where comedians battle using wordplay, puns, and a crippling desperation for approval. Tanner has performed internationally in 10+ countries, including appearances on Red Mic, at the Prague Fringe Festival, and as a finalist for Prague’s Funniest Comedian... which sounds impressive until you remember that Prague will let pretty much anyone do anything.
His comedy blends smart observations with dumb conclusions and the ongoing chaos of being self-aware enough to know he’s the problem, but not enough to fix it. If you enjoy jokes about language, relationships, and the low-grade panic of not belonging anywhere, Tanner is your guy.
