The Mad and Merry Men present the second installment in their 10-month Sherlock Holmes series in Prague!
A brutal murder. A retired whaling captain skewered to his own cabin wall with a harpoon. No signs of a struggle. No clear motive. And no one but Sherlock Holmes can untangle the web of secrets surrounding the death of Black Peter.
This October, The Mad and Merry Men dive into one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s grittier tales of deception, betrayal, and cold-blooded crime with a new stage adaptation of “Black Peter.” Holmes and Watson find themselves navigating a case that stinks of saltwater, secrets, and hidden identities – and as always, the truth is anything but straightforward.
Following the success of “A Scandal in Bohemia,” this is the second play in our ambitious series: 10 stories, 10 months, 10 thrilling evenings of Victorian sleuthing. Each production is a stripped-down, black box staging – intimate, immediate, and historically authentic in costume and props, while boldly reimagined for a modern audience.
Join us for an evening of classic crime fiction brought to life with wit, grit, and suspense. Each show is paired with extras including live readings, short film screenings, post-show talkbacks with the cast and crew – and maybe even a few surprises Sherlock himself wouldn’t see coming.
