A non-verbal exploration of memory, responsibility, and encounter
What is it like to step into the skin of...
someone who lost their family in the Holocaust?
someone who grew up in post-war East Germany?
a farmer expelled from their Sudeten homeland?
a widowed Arab migrant in Berlin?
a Czech worker who lived decades under communism?
an American newcomer learning the weight of European memory?
In times of political upheaval, rising extremism, and devastating wars, we feel the urgent need to seek new forms of creative dialogue with the unknown. To deepen cultural understanding—even when it seems impossible. To create spaces for physical and emotional experiencing—spaces for reflection on both personal and collective histories.
Never Again is a workshop based on the principles of Nordic LARP (live action role-play) to explore memory, responsibility, guilt, and forgiveness. Intensive workshop of sound, space, and movement.
Participants immerse themselves in roles without scripts, using improvised sound, physical action, and spatial awareness to connect with others. We care to create a respectful, safe, and sensitive environment, with guidance of facilitators.
This workshop is for anyone interested in exploring sound and movement improvisation and connections beyond words in the context of history, psychology, personal as well collective memory. You don't need performative experience or prior knowledge of the topics — only curiosity and openness. A diverse group is welcome : students and educators, artists and non-artists, people with personal ties to the Holocaust or none at all, locals and newcomers to Europe.
Workshop structure:
Movement-based and psychosomatic warm-ups
Sound improvisation with objects, listening exercises
Discovering and shaping characters
Collective non-verbal role-play in a shared space
Group reflection and integration
