About the event

[SKRONK']: MYRER // Kwapisinski-Vítová
MYRER
myrer is a duo composed of Italian musicians Thomas Canna and Giovanni Falascone. Their performance explores cyclical and collective essentiality: a focus on the continuity of sound, its non-linear developments, and the anonymity of the individual
in favour of shared intent. The spatial arrangement of instruments and musicians aligns with this aesthetic: the setup is conceived as a single instrument, co-managed through actions and amplification, aiming for a close connection between composition and gestural dramaturgy. The duo's instrumentation includes prepared and amplified percussion, piano, and psaltery. Amplification is achieved through speakers and/or transducers. The performance may also take place without the piano, although its presence is preferred.

Thomas Canna is an Italian percussionist, improviser, and composer currently based in Bern. In 2015, he shifted his focus to jazz and began studying drums at the Siena Jazz University, collaborating with renowned musicians such as Marco Colonna, Stefano Battaglia, Alessandro Giachero, Fabrizio Sferra, Alessandro Paternesi, and Fulvio Sigurtà. Between 2023 and 2024, he Participated in "Changes" with Swedish composer Ellen Arkbro and the annual workshop “Forme Sonore” led by percussionist Roberto Dani. His music revolves around the concept of Resonance, understood both as timbral/sonic frequency
and physical action/movement. He has collaborated with ensembles such as BlueRing Improvisers and MUPE Ensemble,
contributing to acclaimed recordings like “Kumbu-tse” with percussionist Filippo Abrate, “TRACCE” with Roberto Dani and
Forme Sonore Ensemble, his solo work “Mi sembri frastuono, sussurro”, and “Pura Luce” with MUPE Ensemble for MUPE
Records, receiving reviews in Italy and abroad.

Giovanni Falascone is an Italian pianist, electronic musician, improviser, and composer. He graduated in classical piano with
Barbara Tripodi and in contemporary composition with Giovanni Verrando and Pasquale Corrado in Milan, focusing his research on integrating free electroacoustic improvisation and written contemporary music, exploring the role of notation
and the relationship between composer and performer. He is currently Giovanni Verrando’s assistant and is completing a
Master’s degree in Contemporary Composition in Mantua with Maurizio Azzan. He promotes and performs improvised and
contemporary music both as a soloist and with ensembles and associations such as Conserere Collective, BlueRing Improvisers, and Ü Quartet, collaborating with musicians like Silvia Bolognesi, Vlatko Kučan, Filippo Monico and Federico Calcagno.
His works have been performed by ensembles like Divertimento Ensemble and Ensemble Suono Giallo. He has attended
workshops with artists such as Stefano Battaglia, Susana Santos Silva, Ivan Fedele, and Alexander Schubert. Over the past
year, he has published three works and performed in Milan (IT), Paris (FR), Hamburg (DE), Venice (IT), and Locarno (CH).

VÍTOVÁ - KWAPISINSKI
An improvised set will also be performed by the duo of accordionist Žaneta Vítová and saxophonist Wojciech Kwapisinski, assembled especially for this evening.

Žaneta Vítová is an accordionist, improviser, and composer. She performs in the ensemble Dust in the Groove, a project by Radim Hanousek, where classical and jazz musicians meet in the field of free improvisation, but also within Hanousek's compositions. She is intensely involved in contemporary music in the trio ConTRIOlogy, where, together with cimbalom player Michal Grombiřík and singer Jana Vondrů, she presents new works, mainly by Czech composers, commissioned as new compositions for this ensemble.
