Další kapitola projekční série Beyond Belief přináší výběr uměleckých filmů, jež se obrací k minulosti a budoucnosti komunit, které ve svých tělech i v každodenním životě nesou stopy tlaku západní dominance. Přesto si uchovávají vlastní kulturu, příběhy a metafyzické rámce, jež se vymykají hegemonní logice Západu. Tyto Jiné světy, jež se snaží kurátorské pásmo zachytit, mohou z perspektivy bílé modernity působit jako fikce, alegorie nebo alternativní reality. Představují však velmi reálné formy existence, jež se proplétají s odkazy předků i vizemi budoucnosti. Čas a vztahy k lidským i ne-lidským tělům a krajině totiž nejsou v těchto narativech stejně lineární a jednoznačné jako v evropské kulturní tradici.

The next chapter of the Beyond Belief screening series presents a selection of art films that turn to the past and future of communities that bear traces of the pressures of Western domination in their bodies and everyday lives. Yet these communities retain their own cultures, stories and metaphysical frameworks, defying the hegemonic logic of the West. From the perspective of white modernity, the alternative worlds depicted in the curated film series may appear as fictions, allegories, or alternative realities. However, they represent very real forms of existence and memory intertwined with visions of the future. Time and relations to human and non-human bodies and landscapes are not as linear or unambiguous in these narratives as they are in the European cultural tradition.
