Hardcore punková scéna San Diega vždycky byla a je inspirativní a plodná. Od Gravity Records po Three One G definovala San Diego styl a zároveň vždycky překvapovala svojí schopností ohýbat punk i hardcore do různých odvážných fúzí. Hudební kořeny Negative Blast sahají do nultých let, vzešli z kapel jako Hour of the Wolf a Lewd Acts, přičemž nedávný přírůstek bubeník Mario Rubalcaba přidává Clikatat Ikatowi, Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Earthless, OFF! a další do již tak působivého seznamu referencí. S takovými kvalifikačními předpoklady není divu, že Negative Blast jsou stejně precizní jako nekonvenční. V středně rychlých skladbách připomínají Black Flag z období My War nebo Pissed Jeans a zatímco mnohé hardcore kapely se melodiím vyhýbají, Negative Blast je využívají jako protiklad ke své brutální agresi a intenzitě. Připravte se na totální zvukovou destrukci.

San Diego's hardcore punk scene has always been inspiring and prolific. From Gravity Records to Three One G, they've defined the San Diego style, while always surprising with their ability to bend both punk and hardcore into a variety of daring fusions. Negative Blast's musical roots date back to the 2000s, emerging from bands like Hour of the Wolf and Lewd Acts, while recent addition drummer Mario Rubalcaba adds Clikatat Ikatowi, Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Earthless, OFF! and more to an already impressive list of references. With such qualifications, it's no wonder that Negative Blast are as precise as they are unconventional. In mid-tempo songs, they recall Black Flag from the My War or Pissed Jeans eras, and while many hardcore bands shy away from melodies, Negative Blast uses them as a counterpoint to their brutal aggression and intensity. Prepare for total sonic destruction.
