JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA plays Miles Davis

Jazz Dock Orchestra věnuje svůj zářijový koncert jedné z největších osobností moderní hudby 20. století – trumpetistovi a skladateli Milesi Davisovi. Program nabídne průřez jeho tvorbou: od legendárního projektu Birth of the Cool, přes lyrické balady a modální jazz (Blue in Green, Milestones, Flamenco Sketches), až po španělskou inspiraci (Saeta) i pozdější fúzi jazzu s fun­kem a rockem (Maiysha). Během večera tak zazní hudba, která ukazuje Davise jako umělce neustále hledajícího nové cesty, tvůrce, jenž opakovaně proměňoval tvář jazzu a inspiroval celé generace muzikantů.

Jazz Dock Orchestra dedicates its September concert to one of the greatest figures of 20th-century modern music – trumpeter and composer Miles Davis. The program will present a cross-section of his work: from the legendary project Birth of the Cool, through lyrical ballads and modal jazz (Blue in Green, Milestones, Flamenco Sketches), to Spanish-inspired pieces (Saeta) and his later fusion of jazz with funk and rock (Maiysha). Throughout the evening, the music will portray Davis as an artist constantly searching for new paths – a creator who repeatedly transformed the face of jazz and inspired generations of musicians.
