Solowa wystawa Rexy’ego Tsenga „Sensitive Content” odnosi się do dwóch dominujących zjawisk kulturowych we współczesnym społeczeństwie.
Pierwszym z nich jest stępienie procesu tworzenia obrazów w następstwie kultury unieważniania (cancel culture) oraz algorytmicznego oczyszczania treści w mediach społecznościowych, gdzie autocenzura i łagodzenie ekspresji twórczej stają się ceną za popularność i aprobatę odbiorców. Drugim jest powszechna dostępność pornografii — zarówno softcore, jak i hardcore — dzięki nieograniczonemu dostępowi do internetu, co doprowadziło do normalizacji i zobojętnienia wobec treści, które niegdyś były napiętnowane lub zakazane. Te przeciwstawne siły — nadmiaru i powściągliwości — ujawniają sprzeczności leżące u podstaw kultury wizualnej i granic społecznych.
Tytuł wystawy nawiązuje do ostrzeżenia „Sensitive Content”, które pojawia się jako nakładka na postach oznaczonych przez algorytmy Instagrama — niezależnie od tego, czy dotyczą one nagości, seksualności, przemocy, polityki czy innych kontrowersyjnych tematów.

Join us for the opening of Rexy Tseng’s solo exhibition “Sensitive Content”, an exploration of the contradictions shaping today’s visual culture.
Rexy Tseng’s solo exhibition “Sensitive Content” responds to two prevailing cultural currents in contemporary society. The first is the dulling of image-making in the wake of cancel culture and the algorithmic sanitization of social media, where self-censorship and the softening of creative expression are traded for popular approval. The second is the widespread availability of both softcore and hardcore pornography through unrestricted internet access, which has led to the normalization and desensitization of content once stigmatized or forbidden. These opposing forces, rooted in excess and in restraint, expose the contradictions at the core of visual culture and social boundaries. The exhibition title refers to the warning overlay applied to algorithm-flagged posts on Instagram, whether for nudity, sexuality, violence, politics, or other forms of contested material.
