Join us for the next event in our “Beautiful Ohio” lecture series when we welcome Dr.
Don Althoff, who will share 30 years of fascinating discoveries while monitoring the
highly social and completely adorable flying squirrels of Ohio.
Dr. Althoff is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and Professor Emeritus of Wildlife
Conservation at the University of Rio Grande. His work provides valuable hands-on
learning opportunities for University of Rio Grande undergraduate students participating
in inventory and monitoring of our local flora and fauna.
See Dr. Althoff’s video footage of the astonishing gliding abilities of these tiny mammals,
and learn just how many flying squirrels can fit inside one nest when they cuddle up for
warmth during the winter months.
Our education team will be on-hand to introduce you to our rescued flying squirrel
ambassadors. All this, plus a wine, coffee, and appetizer reception.
