Everyone welcome! Join us for a fun (and free) community fitness event on Thursday, October 16th, from 5:30-6:30pm!
If you’re already a jump rope fan, come jump with us! If you’re curious and/or a newbie, come learn the basics. Coach K will show you the ropes (literally and figuratively 🤣).
Jumping rope is fantastic for coordination, conditioning, and agility -- hence why athletes like boxers jump rope so often. It also builds bone density, and it's fun!
Beginners: Learn the basic jump and the main form points.
Novices: Learn the boxer step, alternating step, crossovers, double-unders, and more.
Experts: Show us your skills!
Details:
- This is a rain-or-shine event. We’ll meet at the bandshell/undercover area at Willingdon.
- We’re focusing on adult participants (beginners encouraged to attend), but kids are more than welcome.
- We’ll have two 16-foot double dutch ropes (remember those?) for group fun.
- Ever wanted to try a weighted jump rope? I’ve got options ranging from 1/4 lb to 2 lbs for you to test out.
What to bring:
- A jump rope, if you have one. We’ll have a few extras on hand.
- Water bottle
- Warm clothing; best to wear layers as you’ll likely warm up.
- Friends and family welcome!
