"The conversation regarding imperfect beauty has always interested me as a way of being in the world. As a woman occupying many roles: artist, mother, partner, daughter, teacher… I have felt both the internal and external pull toward perfectionism. My art is a way of subverting that ideal by offering up a unique and personal vision of imperfection as beauty. It is my hope to empower myself and other artists with my art, personal story and determined example to be creative in their own lives."
