Material Matters: a Brooch Club Exhibition

Brooch Club brings together contemporary jewellers from across Sydney in a group exhibition that celebrates the brooch in all its forms — conceptual, functional, sculptural, and symbolic. Through our shared studio-based social club, we’ve explored the concepts of material intelligence, the wearability and the potentiality of this small but mighty object. Contemporary jewellers, inherent to their arts practice, embrace and understand the qualities of a multitude of materials used to create their art.                                                                          

The culmination of this series of explorations, discussions and workshops will be “The Brooch Club Exhibition” to be held at Windowsmiths Gallery during Craft Week.   This show reflects each maker's diverse practices and perspectives and celebrates personal expression, craftsmanship, and collective creativity.
