Sign up here to audition for the Hampton Roads 48 Hour Film Project. See yourself on the big screen at The Naro Expanded Cinema at 1509 Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517 on August 17th and/or 19th. But, first: you've got to be part of the filmming weekend August 1 - 3.
Actors must be available:
FRIDAY NIGHT, August 1st, 9pm - 12am+ for possible shoot times. Some filmmakers begin shooting Friday night. Most don't. Most begin filmming on Saturday. It depends on the filmmaker and the story they write. If you're not available Friday night, but are available Saturday & Sunday, let the filmmaker that reaches out to you know that.
SATURDAY DAY/NIGHT, August 2nd, 10am - 10pm+/-. Most filmmakers shoot all day Saturday and possibly into Saturday night. When you'd be needed as an actor depends on the role you're cast in, the story line (whether it's during the day or at night), the filmmaker (how fast they shoot) and how long the story. Typically actors are needed around 12pm and are needed until about 8pm. If you are an actor on Saturday, please also have availability on Sunday for any pick up shots or extra scenes that might be needed. If you're a crucial role, they won't be able to shoot it without you.
SUNDAY DAY, August 3rd, 8am - 4pm for possible pick up shots or extra scenes.
PREPARATION: Prepare a one minute monologue that features your best strengths. Be prepared to answer questions and apply adjustments from directors. Your audition is only 5 minutes.
