Simrit is a vocalist, composer, and bandleader whose work blends musical traditions from her Greek and North African heritage with contemporary global influences. Born in Athens and raised in the American South, Simrit draws on a range of cultural and spiritual traditions in her music, often incorporating elements of Greek folk, West African drumming, and devotional chant.
