Join us this week as Guest Teacher Alexa Redner leads our Sunday program with a Dharma talk on Living into the Questions Together:
In “Letters to a Young Poet," Rainer Maria Rilke writes: “Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future you will gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
It is natural to feel a sense of spiritual urgency right now, to want to awaken, to want others to awaken, to want to know all the answers to challenging questions like: “What is my role in this community?” “How can I help?” “Are humans inherently good?” “How can I find joy when so many are afraid and suffering?” In this talk we will explore the possibility of meeting spiritual urgency with patience, curiosity and trust by “living into the questions” both in the solitude of our own practice and together in community.
Everyone is invited to stay after 12:00 pm for social time, tea, and snacks.
