Renowned percussionist, composer, and visionary bandleader Kahil El’Zabar brings his celebrated Ethnic Heritage Ensemble to Jack London Revue as part of his 53rd Annual Black History Month, Let The Spirit Out! tour. This performance is the late show of the evening, with doors opening at 9:30pm and the music beginning at 10:00pm. Rooted in the creative spirit of Chicago’s AACM, El’Zabar’s work bridges ancestral rhythm, bebop language, and forward-thinking improvisation. His Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, active since 1973, continues to deliver deeply expressive performances that honor tradition while pushing jazz into new territory.
This concert is presented by Soul’d Out Productions, longtime curators of boundary-expanding music and culture throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This show is 21+.
