BIOMIGRANT
Electronica, Roots Music, and Soundscapes
Biomigrant is the musical expression of producer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Alfred Wagner. Born in the United States, in 2014 he crossed Central America by bicycle, arriving in Colombia, where he began to deepen his work. With an electronic live set that brings together digital beats, live instrumentation (voice, silver flute, Colombian gaita, trumpet, ocarinas), traditional Latin American rhythms and field recordings, along with unique animated visuales, he has brought surprise and joy to dance floors across the Americas and Europe. He explores sound as a means to relive moments and share unique perspectives, and believes that through music and dance even the most painful experiences can be transformed into something beautiful. He is currently based in Coatepec, Mexico.
He has shared stages with cumbia pioneers such as Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto and Los Mirlos, and electronic artists such as Matanza, Chancha Via Circuito, Nicolas Jaar, Nickodemus, Boombox, and Feathered Sun.
