20 Years of the Gathering of Writers

The Maine Women Writers Collection at the University of New England will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Gathering of Writers, a weekly creative writing workshop series, on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. in the Abplanalp Library on the Portland Campus for the Health Sciences. The event is free and open to the public.

Since its inception in 2005, the series has fostered a supportive
community for writers of all backgrounds and experience levels. This special event will feature readings by longtime Gathering participants and honor the program’s legacy in inspiring creativity, connection, and storytelling across Maine. Join us as we recognize two decades of shared expression and literary growth.
