What is Cord Cutting? A symbolic practice used to release emotional or energetic attachments or bonds to past relationships or situations. As we move through our lives, we grow, learn and evolve and we must let go of that which no longer serves us. When we let go, we create space. More space to grow, learn and evolve.
We have cords, or energy strands, attached to us from every person, place, thing, situation and event we have ever encountered in our entire lives. We need to release these energies to bring more freedom into our daily lives.
We only release the unhelpful cords, the negative strands, in order to move forward, to raise our vibration, increase our energy, sleep better, to bring inner peace, less stress, and to protect our energy. We don't release the loving cords and strands that bring us joy!
An example of cords that may need to be released are emotions that bring us down, past events or traumas we carry with us that are reminders of unhappy times in our lives, cords that attach us to past relationships; friends, exes, family members, etc.
Sometimes thinking of these times in our lives can feel like triggers and we attach emotions to these. This can weigh us down, even bringing on dis-ease in our lives. Releasing and cutting these cords can make us feel lighter, more grounded, less uneasy, we may sleep better, smile more, and move through life with more joy and happiness!
This 4 hour retreat involves grounding, visualization, symbolic severing of cords, and cleansing in the forest. You will go home with the tools to continue with this practice yourself. You will have the knowledge and a cord cutting kit of your own to take home.
During this self-care retreat I will guide us through a group cord cutting, we will have a snack and tea break while we journal our experiences. You will have some time to wander in the woods on your own to integrate the release of your energy strands, or perhaps journal and then we will move into a releasing and rejuvenating sound bath. We will finish with a sharing circle in this beautiful space at A Place in the Woods.
