An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein is a collection of ten short, mostly surreal and darkly humorous plays by the author of beloved children's books, known for his irreverent wit and exploration of human relationships. The plays, culled from various collections like "The Bag Plays" and "The Bathroom Plays," feature neurotic characters and provocative scenarios, such as a husband worried his wife is a bag lady, a prostitute offering a "buy one get one free" deal, and a blind blues singer with a talking dog. The collection showcases Silverstein's playful use of language and his cynical, yet insightful, perspective on the absurdities of human nature.
