ABOUT
Join CU Naturalist Tony Klock for What It's Like to Be a Wading Bird, an engaging classroom session held at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve. This program offers a deep dive into the fascinating lives of wading birds, exploring their unique adaptations, feeding strategies, and the vital wetland habitats they depend on. Learn how these birds thrive in challenging environments and why wetlands are so critical—not only for wading birds but also for waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, and songbirds. These ecosystems, found throughout the Maurice River watershed, support an incredible diversity of birdlife and rare plant communities like wild rice marshes, which provide essential food sources for wildlife.
