Is it Cake? Trompe l'Oeil Pastries (part two) - Chef Nasser - Cooking Class

In this hands-on event, Chef Nasser, Head Pastry Chef at @Daangocakelab, will teach you how to make cakes that look and taste like fruits. You will sculpt and decorate 2 cakes

Popularized by the Netflix game show "Is it Cake?", Trompe-l'œil (French for 'deceive the eye') is an artistic term for a highly realistic optical illusion.

There is a 1st part to this event, on May 17th . If you would like to register for both classes, call the store at 604-939-6200 to register and save 10% off both events!

On the menu:
We will be sculpting two cakes that look and taste like fruit, then colouring and finishing them to create the final illusion
Participants will sculpt their own cakes then dip and colour them before taking them home
In this class, the cake flavours will be cherry and cocoa bean

An appetizer plate with cheeses, crackers, spreads and fruits will be served for your enjoyment during the class.
