Richmond County Recreation, in partnership with the Surf Association of Nova Scotia (SANS), is inviting wave riders of all ages to hit the water this summer at the Point Michaud Beach Provincial Park for a day of surf, sport, and seaside fun. Registration is $20 and includes use of equipment provided by the Summer Surf Program throughout the day. The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with a group photo, followed by divisions running from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each division lasts approximately 10 to 15 minutes, with multiple participants competing
simultaneously. Participants are encouraged to enter as many divisions as they'd like in pursuit of the coveted Top Water
Awards, to be presented at 5:30 p.m. The contest will recognize 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each category.

Divisions include: Body Surf, Body Board, Skim Board, Short Board, Long Board, Kayak Surf, Kite Surf, Tandem Surf, SUP Surf,
SUP Race, Open Surf, Men’s, Women’s, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, and Kids Open, Expression Team (costumes with water theatrics) and Surf Team Relay. Costumes are not only welcome but encouraged — especially in the “Expression Team” division, where creativity and water theatrics take center stage. Organizers note that the order of divisions may be adjusted based on surf and weather conditions on the day of the event.
