Michael Red is a Vancouver based music producer, collaborator, curator and DJ. Founder and lead for Low Indigo (leftfield music label, community, events, channel), ambient music artist under the name Souns, one half of Oro Azul with Ultima Esuna (releasing their debut EP on Mood Hut), one half of LA FE with Daniel Rincon (NAP), one half of Chambers with Gabriel Saloman (Yellow Swans), current collaborator with Tsimka, former collaborator and touring artist with throat singer Tanya Tagaq for over ten years, former curator for New Forms Festival for over ten years, Bass Coast Music Festival resident, the founding member of Lighta! Sound, and collaborator with a long list of other notable artists. Michael is recognized as playing a critical role in shaping foundational sound system & underground electronic music culture in Western Canada, as both an event creator and DJ.
