You’ll be joined by the giant human fish himself… Oly Rush! And he’s bringing along the famous Percy the Plesiosaur too.
Oly is the founder of Project Planet Earth—and he’s basically a big kid, just like you! He LOVES keeping our beaches clean and making it fun at the same time.
And get this…
Oly is a real-life swimming superhero:
He once swam all the way around Grand Cayman Island—it took him 36 hours non-stop!
He smashed the world record for swimming around the entire Isle of Wight, doing it in just 15 hours (the old record was 26 hours!) That’s like swimming for two whole school days without stopping!
So when Oly’s leading this beach clean—you know it’s going to be full of fun, energy, and probably a bit of splashing too.
Come along, help keep our beaches clean, and meet one of Purbeck’s very own heroes!
Come on over between 10:30 am and 3pm to join in the kids activities.
Search through the sand table for the lost characters, do a beach scavenger hunt, check out some cool beach finds and of course, meet Percy, a dinosaur made from beach clean plastics! There will be a big beach clean at 12:30pm, so come and grab some gloves and pickers with us as we take a walk along the beach and dunes.
Poster competition
We are running a poster competition for schools in Purbeck, with prizes for different year groups. Get out the pens and paper and get creative!
Parents/guardians can email over a photo or scanned copy of the poster.
Please make sure there are no people in the photos. These will be used to make a display for our Clean and Green Family Day event. Please tell us in the email the school and year that your child is in and send your
entries to

For GDPR purposes, please don’t include any personal information about your child. The year
groups and poster topics are-
Reception to Year 3 – draw your favourite sea creature
Year 4 to 6 - create a poster to show us how we can protect sea
animals from plastic pollution
Year 7 and upwards - create a poster to tell people why we need to
protect our oceans and some of the ways we can do that.
