Hello Blues Lovers!
Apologies, it’s been a while since our last communication, but Swanage Blues is well and truly back.
There’s been a lot to sort out and get our heads around since taking over running the festival since our father who founded this amazing event sadly passed away last year. However, we are honoured to have been given this opportunity to continue our father’s legacy and have been very busy sorting out a brilliant programme of amazing artists for this October’s Swanage Blues Festival
We’ve got some of your regular favourites, such as Hugh Budden, Zoe Schwarz, Geoff Garbow, Fabulous Fez Heads, Back Porch, Blue Touch, Chicago 9, Pete Harris, Fabulous Duck Brothers, Robin Bibi and his Jam Sessions, the ever popular Open Mic, and many more.
We also have good representation of artists nominated in various categories of the UK Blues awards:
Thomas Heppell (Top 5 - Contemporary Artist of the Year, Acoustic Blues Act of the Year, Emerging Act of the Year, and Top 20 Blues Band of the Year)!
Neil Sadler (Top 5 - Blues Album of the Year, and Number 1, most played album in the IBBA charts, and Top 20 – UK Blues Traditional Artist of the Year)!
The Milk Men (Top 20 - UK Blues Band, UK Blues Album of the Year)
Robin Bibi (Top 20 - UK Blues Traditional Artist of the Year)
Guy Tortora (Top 20 – UK Blues Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year)
The Terraplanes (Top 20 UK Blues Band of the Year)
We also have some exciting new acts for you, such as the Adam Sweet Band, and Kirris Riviere and the Delta du Bruit – both nominated in the UK Blues Awards Emerging Act of the Year category.
In addition to the above, we also have some new venues
The Arches - A brand new venue in the heart of Swanage, opening soon. This charming cheese and wine bar offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, with a carefully curated selection of artisan cheeses and fine wines.
Swanage Bay View Holiday Park - We’re excited for the return of this great venue, which has hosted the Blues Festival many times before. They have a large bar serving food and drinks, with great views, purpose built stage area, and are open to all
The Village Inn, Ulwell Holiday Park - Another new venue for the Blues Festival, just along Ulwell Road. This also has a large bar serving food and drinks, and is open to all
Baboo Gelato – an award winning gelateria by day, and an intimate bar with cocktails, wine, beer and live music in the evening
