Hosted by Life Sciences Hub Wales in partnership with the Academy of Medical Sciences, this event is part of the UK-wide Cross-Sector Programme and will champion collaborative approaches to improving cancer outcomes and care experiences.

Info: The chair for the day will welcome attendees & provide an overview of the day. Rhodri joined Life Sciences Hub Wales as Innovation Adoption Director in September 2020, following a three-year term serving the organisation as a board member. He’s held a variety of senior management positions in the commercial, public and voluntary sectors working with and for healthcare providers, pharma and medtech internationally, delivering public private partnerships, major transformation programmes and new technology and service adoption programmes
His past roles include Director of the National Botanic Garden of Wales and General Manager of Current BioData, a knowledgebase supplier to global pharma. Rhodri also co-founded Societas Management and was an investor advisor for over a decade supporting development to exit, managing relationships with co-investors and advising on strategy for a diverse healthcare portfolio including joint ventures with the NHS.

Info: Cari-Anne holds the position of Chief Executive Officer here at Life Sciences Hub Wales, leading our team in propelling vital life science innovation to the frontline of health and social care.
With a wealth of expertise spanning life sciences and economics, Cari-Anne has been instrumental in instigating transformation though development on an international scale with her work at the Welsh Development Agency. Additionally, she led Welsh Government’s involvement in business engagement for the life sciences sector with the economy department, where her contribution has played a crucial role in nurturing significant life sciences projects.
Cari-Anne is also passionate about driving workforce advancements in Wales as a Director of the Wales Quality Centre, which is a charitable organisation that cultivates business skills development.
Info: Ronan Lyons, Clinical Professor of Public Health at Swansea University, is internationally recognised for leadership in innovative use of health data to address important public health questions. As founding director of the Welsh Secure Anonymised Information Linkage databank, he has succeeded in linking an exceptional breadth and depth of individual-level data for an entire population across their life course. This has enabled rapid access to comprehensive data to inform the work of SAGE and NERVTAG. He established the UK Secure eResearch Platform – a secure infrastructure for research using complex multimodal data - which has fundamentally changed the nature of, and opportunities for, distributed team science across the UK and internationally.
