The Saints Of Wales // A Taproom Talk by James Morgan

Anyone who has been to Wales has seen ‘Llan’ on the signs. Llanelli, Llandudno, Llanishen, Llanilltud, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch….the list is endless! But not so many people know what Llans actually were: monastic settlements established by the early medieval Saints of Wales. 😇🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

For October’s Taproom Talk, James will be taking a deep dive into Llans and the saints that established them, exploring what and who they were as well as their historical significance. 🏰

The talk will be based on part of James’ MPhil thesis. 🧑‍🏫
