However, due to the Covid pandemic, we are organizing bird walks and field trips carefully this year and putting into place new protocols to protect our participants.  Participation in our walks and field trips is currently limited to 20 people or less, depending on the event.  SJCA members will have a priority when there is limited space for a specific event.• Beginning birders are particularly welcome at our events! The advanced birders who lead these events enjoy helping others learn about the habitats, songs, and lives of birds and how we can protect their habitats. • We also engage in waterways cleanups on a regular basis, which is a wonderful way to be on the water and see birds (as well as help clean our waterways of debris).• We support two Christmas Bird Counts, EagleWatch, Climate Watch, and the Florida Shorebird Alliance to protect nesting shorebirds.
