Written by Sharonda "Eccentrich" Richardson and directed by Curtis Smith, both Pompano Natives, "The Porch Talk" explores the intertwined lives of three generations. Conflicts and revelations arise as they navigate changing societal norms, revealing the challenges of communication across generational divides. Through humor and poignancy, the play delves into themes of heritage, expectations, and the true meaning of community, highlighting the importance of connection and understanding amongst family. This is a free event presented by Pompano Beach Arts in collaboration with the Tiger Trail Festival. Following The Porch Talk, attendees are invited to continue the experience by viewing the documentary Rubin at The Hive, featuring a post-screening director talkback.
