-12pm-2pm After Event Soiree at either the Wyndham Resort Tiki Bar or Beachcomber Beach Bar/Grill
Cost: Event is FREE!
Prizes: The beach walker who collects the most trash (weighted) will win a $100 gift certificate to the Beachcomber Bar & Grill.
-The scuba diver or snorkeler who collects the most (weighted) trash will win a new set of Atomic Fins, $130 value.
-Every volunteer will receive a free drink certificate at the Wyndham Tiki Bar
-Every volunteer will receive a free event t-shirt.
Scuba Divers: Must provide a valid scuba certification card (physical, digital, or photocopy) at registration. No exceptions, to ensure a safe and fun event for everyone.
Equipment: Divers are responsible for providing their own full scuba tank and all other necessary equipment (BCD, regulator, mask, snorkel, fins, and weights). Please also bring a cutting tool and a bag to assist with debris removal.
Equipment Rentals: If you need to rent equipment, you must call our shop in advance to reserve your gear.
Parking: There will be free parking spots available on a first come first serve basis for all volunteers
-Event Staff Only can park for FREE (7am-2pm) in the red boxed areas on the map at the end of SE 12 St., near the Wyndham pool & the south parking lot at the Beachcomber Resort.
-All volunteers can park for FREE (8am-2pm) in the yellow boxed areas on the map at the south parking lot at the Beachcomber Resort & The Wyndham Santa Barbara Resort parking garage.
Unloading/Loading Zone: A designated loading/unloading zone is available to drop off people/gear at the end of SE 12th Street, near the Event Base Area. Temporary parking is limited to 5-10 minutes or the time needed to unload/load. DO NOT PARK AT THE CONDO PARKING AREA, NOT EVEN FOR A MINUTE TO UNLOAD, AS YOU WILL GET TICKETED & TOWED.
There will also be App-based paid parking are available near the event site.
Volunteer Opportunities: We need a wide range of volunteers for both land and water duties:
-Cleaners for the reef (snorkelers/divers) and the beach.
-Assisting with gear at the designated drop-off area.
-Helping divers, snorkelers, and helpers enter and exit the water.
-Gathering debris-filled buckets from divers and collecting trash from the beach.
This is a great opportunity for students to earn high school service hours, and we encourage them to join us.
