SILENT MOVIE - METROPOLIS

Metropolis - The most famous silent film of all time. Sometime in the future, the city of Metropolis is home to a Utopian society where its wealthy residents live a carefree life. One of those is Freder Fredersen. One day, he spots a beautiful woman with a group of children, she and the children quickly disappear. Trying to follow her, he is horrified to find an underground world of workers who apparently run the machinery that keeps the Utopian world above ground functioning. Film duration approximately 153 minutes.

Filming took place over 17 months in 1925–26 at a cost of more than five million Reichsmarks, or the equivalent of about €21 million.

Doors and bar open at 11am and the movie screens at 12 noon. Coffee, tea, refreshments & snacks available. Tickets are $15 each and free for kids 13 and under. No need to book. Get your tickets at the door.
