This workshop utilies the the 'blanket stitch' and a knotless looping techniques shown in the photos. She has exhibited at Vacant Assembly Gallery in Brisbane, and is the 2025 Artist in Residence at the Cossack Art Awards in Western Australia. She has been teaching weaving for several years.As a non-Indigenous weaver, Monique is mindful of ongoing conversations around cultural appropriation and approaches her work with deep respect and care. She acknowledges the rich and enduring weaving traditions of First Nations peoples across Australia and beyond. Her own practice is through a contemporary lens—rooted in diverse craft forms, nature connection, and mindfulness. Monique is clear that she is not an Indigenous artist and does not teach or represent Indigenous cultural practices.Monique is also a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, who trained with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. She is the founder of Heartwood Nature Bathing.Monique has a blue card, up-to-date certifications in Remote and Wilderness Area First Aid, and full public liability insurance. Please note that the Eventbrite booking fee is non-refundable.Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event are not eligible for a refund.
