25th Annual Fishing Derby & Casting Contest

The 25th Annual Fishing Derby & Casting Contest will be held on June 7, 2025 at the Pomfret Rod & Gun Club. This derby is for children ages 5 - 15. The registration fee is $10.00 per child. Check in starts at 8:00 am. Fishing starts at 8:30 and ends at 11:30 followed by lunch and awards. There will be a casting contest with prizes during the derby. Tagged fish donated by local businesses are worth $25.00 cash. One tagged fish allowed per child. There will also be other awards presented. A picnic lunch and goody bag are included in the price of registration. Lunch can be purchased by adults for $5.00. Only worms and nightcrawlers are allowed for fishing. PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FISH! Please bring your own fishing supplies.
