Aaron Hawthorne is an award-winning organist based in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, renowned for his thrilling live accompaniments to silent films. A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Aaron has performed across the UK, Europe, and the USA, captivating audiences with his dynamic, improvised scores on both church and theatre organs.

His passion for theatre organs began after a family trip to Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom, sparking a career that would see him crowned the American Theatre Organ Society’s International Young Theatre Organist of the Year in 2019, just months before receiving the Cinema Organ Society’s prestigious Ian Sutherland Award for outstanding talent.

Aaron is a regular recitalist at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, and since 2021 has toured internationally with live scores to silent film classics including Nosferatu, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Phantom of the Opera. He also serves as Arts Development Officer for Music in North Lanarkshire, championing the role of the arts in education and community life.

Whether in historic cathedrals, grand concert halls, or spooky film screenings, Aaron’s performances are known for their energy, emotion, and spine-tingling drama.
