Ripplewood, a six-piece ensemble of experienced musicians from the Philadelphia Grateful Dead tribute scene and alumni of the NYC downtown avant-rock scene, offers a fresh interpretation of Jerry Garcia's musical legacy.
In observance of Jerry Week, Ripplewood will perform a Jerry Garcia Band-focused show.
Their diverse instrumentation, featuring bass, dual drums, keyboards, guitars, mandolin, and harmonica, allows Ripplewood to explore the full spectrum of Jerry's universe, from its most intimate moments to its vast soundscapes. Ripplewood's dedication to their craft is evident in their ability to consistently rock venues and cultivate strong fan support across the region.

Steven Taylor is a member of the revived underground rock band the Fugs, described by critic John Rockwell as “the prototypical New York beatnik, art-rock group, the precursors of the Velvet Underground and, through them, the entire New York and international new wave rock culture.” Taylor has composed music for theatre, film, radio drama, and installations, and made over a dozen records with various artists. He has toured and recorded with poets Allen Ginsberg, Anne Waldman, Kenward Elmslie, and the New York hardcore band False Prophets. Of his work with the Fugs, NY Times critic Stephen Holden wrote: “Mr. Taylor, the quintet's most musically sophisticated member, is a proficient guitarist and composer whose style runs toward an austere, 1980s extension of 1960s psychedelic folk-rock.”
