Science on Screen - Uncovering Nature's Real Invasions

Have you ever been walking in your local park and noticed a plant you did not recognize? That’s a good time to take a closer look, especially if it’s something you’ve never seen before. You may be observing an invasive species, something that is non-native to Michigan and causes harm to Michigan’s economy, environment or human health. Learn how to spot these species out of place, where to report them and what you can do to prevent their spread!

This showing of "THE BLOB" will have a short presentation by Erica Clites before the film with Q&A afterward.

Erica Clites is a Michigan Sea Grant educator serving in Southeast Michigan. Erica works with local communities, agencies and other partners and networks on initiatives such as habitat restoration and coastal community development. Prior to joining Michigan Sea Grant, Erica worked as an invasive species director for a coalition of 40 organizations in Oakland County.
