Mark your calendars, dust off your pet carriers, and prepare for the most fur-tastically chaotic service of the year! Our second annual Blessing of the Animals is happening during the 10am service on Sunday, October 5th, and we're rolling out the red carpet (which we'll probably need to steam clean afterward).
All of God's creatures are welcome! Whether your companion barks, meows, chirps, hisses, or makes that weird noise guinea pigs make when they're excited, Pastor Chris is prepared to offer blessings with equal enthusiasm.
Bring a photo of your beloved creature, and Pastor Chris will bless it with the same reverence as if Mr. Whiskers were there in person. We promise the blessing is just as effective, with significantly less chance of anyone getting their shoes chewed.
And yes, we mean ALL creatures. Got a cherished stuffed animal that's been your faithful companion since childhood? Bring that threadbare teddy bear! That Build-A-Bear you made with your grandkids? Absolutely! If it brings you comfort and joy, it deserves a blessing. After all, love comes in many forms – some just happen to be filled with cotton batting.
A few gentle reminders for the big day:
• Please keep dogs leashed and cats in carriers
• If your pet has specific behavioral quirks, maybe give us a heads up beforehand
